In your message you seem to be condoning what is happening in India with particular reference to Kerala. There is complete anarchy and no body respects one another. Even our movies looks vulgar with words like " Nayente Mone" "Idiot" "Go to hell" are common. This may be the normal words used by illiterate masses; but they are unbecoming words not to be further exploited by the film Industry. All the so called leaders of the film get their approval through their unbelievable ability to counter more than one dozen people. I can only deplore main leaders like Mohanlal, Mamooty, Jayaram exploiting their film stunts and making them their movie idols! How foolish. They make lot of money at your expense. I believe that the old films had more culture and we have to learn from certain good Tamil films the value of respecting elders and looking after the family. I am a Malayalee staying in Singapore for the last 60 years. While I make regular visits to Kerala, my experiences have been one of disappointment. There is apartheid in a different form practised in India. We condemned the British for treating black people badly. It is the same in India. A scheduled caste fellow can get a job with a lower qualification than a person born in a family which has got some epithets like Menon, Nair, Nambiar, Pillai, Iyer etc. Although they may be poor, no consideration is given to them. Are they not Indians with equal rights? I can't understand the philosophy of treating the scheduled castes as if they were superior and should have special rights and privileges. I do not know whether it is provided in the Constitution or whether the politicians are exploiting the public at large. Even if you have scored very high marks, the parents of the child pursuing tertiary education has to pay several lakhs to get admission to Universities and after having passed have to pay again high stakes to get a job unless the person has the ability to organize his own business. Keralites are a lot of idle folks whilst in Kerala, the moment they are outside the state, they would stoop to do any menial tasks to survive. There is considerable show off. I hope that at least the future generation will realise their foolhardy behaviour and we shall have a harmonious and fully democratic India without people abusing their position with corruption and nepotism. Yours sincerely, M. K. Any election should be made cancelled if 60% polling was not done and no body should be allowed get elected if he doesn't get above 50% of votes casted. Governor's /President's rule should be applied in that particular constituancy. Regds, Joseph Varghese 09881090740 From: ICS MENON <ics.menon@gmail.com> To: Keralites <Keralites@YahooGroups.com>
Sent: Thu, August 12, 2010 3:16:05 PM Subject: [www.keralites.net] Real democracy In the present system of democratic process if a candidate gets 15-20% votes of the total population of that constituency, he will be in majority where as the majority does not like him to be their representative because of political and other rivalries. In other words the elected candidate is not the real representative of all the voters. To overcome this problem, it is suggested that we remove all politicians from power and elect an independent candidate. This will facilitate a direct approach of the people to the officials (Executives) to get things done i.e. political interference is not there at all. There will not be any leader among the elected representatives and all are equal. Their duty is to see the peoples problems attended by the concerned officials i.e. executives and the judiciary. This is required because politicians hide lot of things from the public and when some corruption is coming to the light, they conduct an enquiry, again spending the public money. This is one type of decentralization of power and people can watch the officials doing their duties without political influence. After successfully implementing this in the local body level, this can be put into practice so that we can save lot of money which is being spent for enjoyment of politicians as ministers etc….. So think over this now and put it into practice without delay. Let the present Devil’s Own Country be the God’s Own Country of the future. Hope everyone at Keralites Group will try to spread this idea of total democracy in Kerala. |
