For all Air india Fans Mathrubhumi 01/08/2010 തിരുവനന്തപുരം: എയര്‍ ഇന്ത്യയുടെ അനാസ്ഥയെ തുടര്‍ന്ന് സ്ത്രീകളും കുട്ടികളും ഉള്‍പ്പെടെ 160 യാത്രക്കാര്‍ ഒന്നരദിവസത്തോളം നരകയാതന അനുഭവിച്ചു. വെള്ളിയാഴ്ച രാത്രി തിരുവനന്തപുരം വിമാനത്താവളത്തില്‍ നിന്നും പുറപ്പെടേണ്ട ഐ.എക്‌സ് 458 കൊച്ചി-തിരുവനന്തപുരം-ബഹറിന്‍ വിമാനത്തിലെ യാത്രക്കാരാണ് ദുരിതം അനുഭവിച്ചത് . വെള്ളിയാഴ്ച രാത്രി വൈകി എത്തിയ വിമാനം പുറപ്പെടാന്‍ അനിയന്ത്രിതമായി വൈകിയതുമൂലം യാത്രക്കാര്‍ വിമാനത്തിനുള്ളിലും ഹോട്ടലുകളിലുമായി കഴിഞ്ഞുകൂടുകയായിരുന്നു. വിമാനത്തിനുള്ളില്‍ കുഴഞ്ഞുവീണ രണ്ടുയാത്രക്കാരെ ആസ്​പത്രിയിലേക്ക് മാറ്റി. വൈദ്യസഹായം ലഭിക്കാന്‍ വൈകിയത് യാത്രക്കാരെ പ്രകോപിതരാക്കി. തിരുവനന്തപുരത്ത് നിന്നും വെള്ളിയാഴ്ച രാത്രി 8.50 ന് പുറപ്പെടേണ്ട വിമാനം നാലുമണിക്കൂറോളം വൈകിയാണ് എത്തിയത്. കൊച്ചിയില്‍ നിന്നുള്ള അറുപത് യാത്രികര്‍ വിമാനത്തിലുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. തിരുവനന്തപുരത്ത് നിന്നുള്ള യാത്രികരും വിമാനത്തില്‍ പ്രവേശിച്ചതിന് ശേഷമാണ് യാത്ര പുറപ്പെടാന്‍ വൈകുമെന്ന് അറിയിച്ചത്.  കൃത്യമായ സമയം അറിയിക്കാത്തതിനെ തുടര്‍ന്ന് യാത്രക്കാരില്‍ ഭൂരിഭാഗവും വിമാനത്തില്‍ നിന്നും ഇറങ്ങാന്‍ തയാറായില്ല. 20 പേര്‍ ഹോട്ടലിലേക്ക് മാറുകയും ചെയ്തു. ഞായറാഴ്ച പുലര്‍ച്ചെ അഞ്ചിന് വിമാനം പുറപ്പെടുമെന്നാണ് ആദ്യം അറിയിച്ചത്. തുടര്‍ന്ന് ഉച്ചയാകുമെന്നും യാത്രികര്‍ക്ക് അറിയിപ്പ് കിട്ടി. വിമാനത്തിലെ എയര്‍കണ്ടീഷന്‍ സംവിധാനം പ്രവര്‍ത്തന രഹിതമായതോടെ യാത്രികര്‍ക്ക് ഉള്ളില്‍ കഴിയാന്‍ പറ്റാതെയായി. ഭക്ഷണവും കുടിവെള്ളവും നിഷേധിച്ചതായും യാത്രക്കാര്‍ പരാതിപ്പെട്ടു.  ചൂട് അസഹ്യമായതോടെ യാത്രക്കാരുടെ കുട്ടികള്‍ നിലവിളിക്കാനും തുടങ്ങി. ഞായറാഴ്ച രാവിലെ എട്ടോടെയാണ് യാത്രക്കാരെ ഹോട്ടലുകളിലേക്ക് മാറ്റിയത്. ഹോട്ടലിലേക്കുള്ള വാഹനങ്ങള്‍ക്കുവേണ്ടി ഇവര്‍ക്ക് ഏറെ നേരം വിമാനത്താവളത്തിലും കാത്തുനില്‍ക്കേണ്ടിവന്നു. സ്റ്റാച്യു, കിഴക്കേകോട്ട, കോവളം എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിലെ ഹോട്ടലുകളിലാണ് ഇവര്‍ക്ക് താമസമൊരുക്കിയത്. ഉച്ചയായിയിട്ടും യാത്രപുറപ്പെടാനാകുമെന്ന കാര്യത്തില്‍ എയര്‍ ഇന്ത്യ അധികൃതര്‍ വ്യക്തമായ വിശദീകരണം നല്‍കാത്തതിനെ തുടര്‍ന്ന് യാത്രക്കാര്‍ പ്രതിഷേധവുമായി റോഡിലിറങ്ങി. കിഴക്കേകോട്ടയില്‍ യാത്രക്കാര്‍ റോഡ് ഉപരോധിച്ചു. മുക്കാല്‍ മണിക്കൂറോളം ഗതാഗതം തടസപ്പെട്ടു. ഫോര്‍ട്ട് പോലീസ് അറസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്യുമെന്ന് പറഞ്ഞിട്ടുപോലും യാത്രക്കാര്‍ പ്രതിഷേധത്തില്‍ നിന്നും പിന്‍മാറിയില്ല. എയര്‍ ഇന്ത്യാ മാനേജര്‍ എത്തി ഞായറാഴ്ച പുലര്‍ച്ചെ രണ്ടിന് വിമാനം പുറപ്പെടുമെന്ന് ഉറപ്പ്‌നല്‍കിയശേഷമാണ് യാത്രക്കാര്‍ ഉപരോധത്തില്‍ നിന്നും പിന്‍മാറിയത്. വി.ശിവന്‍കുട്ടി എംഎല്‍എ, മേയര്‍ സി.ജയന്‍ ബാബു എന്നിവരും യാത്രക്കാരുമായി സംസാരിച്ചു. ഫൈ്‌ളറ്റ് ജീവനക്കാരെ കൃത്യസമയത്ത് എത്തിയ്ക്കാത്തതുകാരണമാണ് വിമാനം വൈകിയതെന്ന് പറയപ്പെടുന്നു. തിരുവനന്തപുരം വരെ വിമാനത്തിലുണ്ടായിരുന്ന കാബിന്‍ ക്രൂ ഡ്യൂട്ടി സമയം കഴിഞ്ഞതിനാല്‍ സ്ഥലം വിട്ടിരുന്നു. ഡല്‍ഹിയില്‍ നിന്നാണ് ഈ വിമാനത്തിലേയ്ക്ക് ജീവനക്കാരെ എത്തിക്കേണ്ടിയിരുന്നത്. എന്നാല്‍ കൃത്യവിലോപം കാരണം ജീവനക്കാരെ എത്തിയ്ക്കാന്‍ കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല. ഡയറക്ടര്‍ ജനറല്‍ ഓഫ് സിവില്‍ ഏവിയേഷന്റെ നിബന്ധന പ്രകാരം ജീവനക്കാര്‍ക്ക് വിശ്രമം അനുവദിക്കേണ്ടിവന്നതാണ് യാത്രപുറപ്പെടുന്നതിന് തടസ്സമായതെന്ന് എയര്‍ഇന്ത്യ അധികൃതര്‍ പറഞ്ഞു. ജീവനക്കാരുടെ കുറവും പ്രതിസന്ധിക്കിടയാക്കി. ജീവനക്കാര്‍ക്ക് വിശ്രമം അനുവദിച്ചശേഷം ശനിയാഴ്ച ഉച്ചയോടെ യാത്ര തുടരാനാണ് എയര്‍ ഇന്ത്യ ശ്രമിച്ചത്. എന്നാല്‍ യാത്രക്കാര്‍ വിമാനത്തില്‍ നിന്നിറങ്ങാന്‍ തയ്യാറാകാത്തതിനാല്‍ ജീവനക്കാരും വിമാനത്തില്‍ കഴിയേണ്ടിവന്നു. പൈലറ്റ് ഉള്‍പ്പടെയുള്ളവര്‍ക്ക് വിശ്രമം നല്‍കിയശേഷമാണ് ഞായറാഴ്ച രാവിലെ പുറപ്പെടാന്‍ തീരുമാനിച്ചതെന്ന് എയര്‍ ഇന്ത്യ അധികൃതര്‍ വ്യക്തമാക്കി. --- On Mon, 26/7/10, prema radhakrishnan <prema_radhakrishnan@yahoo.com> wrote: From: prema radhakrishnan <prema_radhakrishnan@yahoo.com> Subject: Re: [www.keralites.net] Airlines Meals...See till last To: Keralites@yahoogroups.com Date: Monday, 26 July, 2010, 9:32 AM Dear Mr. Shameer & All   I had been reading all the comments about the AIR INDIA - Our National Carrier .  I felt ashamed of many of our readers , who , just because they had a delayed flight and no meal on the flight , praising , a multi million Airline - Like EMIRATES.   I am working in this Travel Industry for the ast 20 years, in Chennai .  I had seen  or travelled almost all the premium Airlines and had their meals, their conforts, their syle of working etc .   Believe , I had handled many passengers , they are first class passengers going by Air India  to USA , and other long haul flights.  I used to sit in the Air India s chennai office to get the confirmation those days , and , all the FIRST CLASS passengers used to hate BRITISH AIRWAYS  OR LUFTHANSA  AIRLINES FLIGHTS , simple reason-- though the service is good, the treatment towards Indians on board is very very bad by these Airlines Also , with Air India , those passengrs used to feel at home   You may not heard some stories about so many other airlines  delays , how badly they treat the passengers, especailly we Indian etc. But being in this industry , I have seen  so many stories about their flight delays.   Recently when the VOLCANIC  erruption happend , almost all the Airlines cancelled so many flights -- and many many passengers were sleeping in the airports throughout the world.  But my passengers who were on Air India Flights , who got stranded at the London Airport - were given hotel accomodation for 7 nights with food. One of them returned back, again  took a flight with in one weeks time, kept on telling  me, that last time HE regreted not taking his wife , since she would have enjoyed the stay at London , with the sight seeing for 7 days .  But none other Airlined even given one single meal to any passgers.   My personel experence with AIR INDIA - I DO APPRECIATE THEIR SERVICES - as  personel level, and also as a Travel Agents level, since :-   - The  Pilots are highly efficent   / Their landing is perfect -( I AM NOT CLOSING MY EYES - ABOUT THE MANGLORE INCIDENT ) - The crew and the ground staff try their maximum to help the passengers always ,though they lack  the so called high tech instruments.   - The amount they are taking for their flights -- it is going to some other pockets , not coming to the airlines directly so that they can do any improvements to the flights  . - The top people ar always selected by the politicians   -- many of them dont have any idea how to run the Airlines   - My point -- the staff and other employees , tries their maximum to help the passengers,run tthis airlines smoothly ,  this being associated with the Airlines Industry for the past 20 years, my personel experence.   I am not denying the fact about their delays -- but at least they are flying you to your destination, but where as many so called Premuim airlines, they cancels their flights, and gives you , another business class ticket for you to fly later  / or they will give you  refund , if you try and try your best you may get the refund. .  But once again, who can flight with a Call centre for your refunds ?? Most of the premuim Airlines dont have city offices in  the cities now . Since emirares started its operations to Cochin I stopped travelling by Air India .I was previleged to travel emirate's second flight to cochin and the service provided by emirates was awsome. Let me state my experience with air India. They came for work. Why they are working, only to get money for the salvation of their family members. Hoping to get good money and settle in home country. Hence, I feel that all of us will consider the air fare. Exception will be there; those who are spending money for enjoyment and to get different experiences in their life. We are aiming about the people who are traveling abroad by flight to earn money. 4.     Flight cancellation is occurring; I agree that, it should not happen. I feel it is improving. We can hope it will be Ok. These discussion to be continued.
