തെക്കന്‍ കരോലിനയിലെ റിച്ച്ലാന്‍ഡ് സെന്ററില്‍ നവംബര്‍ 22നായിരുന്നു അന്ത്യമെന്ന് യുഎസ് അധികൃതര്‍ പറഞ്ഞു. എന്നാല്‍ വാര്‍ത്ത ഇപ്പോഴാണ് പുറത്തു വരുന്നത്.
മോസ്കോ സര്‍വകലാശാലയില്‍ നിന്നു വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം പൂര്‍ത്തിയാക്കിയ സ്വെറ്റ ്ലാന എഴുത്തുകാരിയും അധ്യാപികയുമായിരുന്നു. ഇവര്‍ എഴുതിയ ണ്ട് ഓര്‍മക്കുറിപ്പുകളും വില്‍പനയില്‍ റക്കോര്‍ഡ് സൃഷ്ടിച്ചു. എങ്കിലും അവസാന കാലത്ത് ദാരിദ്യ്രത്തിലായിരുന്നുവെന്നാണ് റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട്.
അച്ഛന്റെ പേരുകൊണ്ടുതന്നെ താനൊരു രാഷ്ട്രീയ തടവുകാരിയാണെന്ന് വിശ്വസിച്ചിരുന്ന അവര്‍ ന്യൂയോര്‍ക്കില്‍ സ്റാലിനെ വിമര്‍ശിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് നടത്തിയ വാര്‍ത്താസമ്മേളനം അക്കാലത്ത് ഏറെ മാധ്യമശ്രദ്ധ നേടിയിരുന്നു. നാലു തവണ വിവാഹിതയായ ഇവര്‍ക്ക് ഒരു മകനും മകളുമുണ്ട്.
