Re: [www.keralites.net] Reminder of Nokku-kooli-petition

Dear all:

Have you viewed the television programe "Niyantrana Rekha" on Manorama News aired yesterday noon on our discussion subject.  It was participated by trade union leaders, all walks of affected, politicians etc.  The message clearly came out was Nokku Kooli is a crime in the society wherein people who don't work but extract money from public.  No trade unitions encourage this and public has option to go to the local offices and complain about the people who ask for Nokku Kooli instead of paying it.  You may even complain to police regarding this menance.  Although the discussions in the said programe did not give any solid conclusions or suggestions, what people can do with the help of Law of the land is a solace and a sign for the future. I guess.

I am also happy to view that program since this subject was a discussion point in our forum. I am also happy that this forum is serious about the issues public face in day to day affairs.  I am also happy that media is now taking this issue at greater length.  Thanks to all of you who brought this up.

Thanks

Jolly Jacob, NRK

To whosoever it may concern

We, the members of a social forum called www.keralites.net, would like to draw your kind attention to the fact that in Kerala, we all suffer from an unjust social malevolence called "NOKKU-KOOLI" roughly translated as "the wage for just witnessing a particular work being done by others or machines". Due to this exploitation we are often forced to drop a lot of good projects in both public and private sectors. Therefore, the Honble Court is hereby requested to consider this appeal as an application filed in the Court out of public interest and prevent the labour unions from extracting money from the public by directing the Kerala State Government to implement the orders. As we are wide spread throughout the world, we are not in a position to file a petition in person. Nor do we have the funds to engage an advocate to plead the case.

Some of the viewpoints of our members from all over the world are attached herewith to give you an idea of the public feeling against this atrocity.

We thank you for your support in anticipation.
