Yes, indeed it is very painful to see that so many innocent lives are wiped out of this world for no fault of theirs. After a visit to India especially to Kerala I always give thanks to the Lord my God for having come back alive. It seems like a miracle, all the time.
The road accidents are not just the faults of the pedestrians. The driving licence is obtained by anyone who has money. Auto drivers as they have driven an autorickshaw for a few years think they can drive a heavy vehicle and when they try accidents occur. Bus cleaners and conducters just because they have seen the driver a few months and worked with him attempt to drive and it has taken the lives of many in the past. Children just reaching the adulthood drives like they are the boss of the road and causes accidents. And they have an attitude in case of an accident that it is O.K to compensate the lives with money as in the case of the BMW case which happened in Lodhi Road in Delhi. Seven lives were lost and the American returned student drove the car on to the people who were sleeping on the roadside and as soon as the police came the uncle of the boy an advocate took out a wad of notes and handed over to the police. They think nothing of the value of the human lives lost or the pain of those who lost their loved ones. Then in the greed to have one more passenger buses compete with eachother killing people. Little babies are killed as auto drivers fill the autos like sardines in order to get as many children as possible doing school trips. As the payment depends on the trips they make the tripper lorries ply like nothing else matters but the number of the trips they make which has caused too many deaths to count. The police and the polititians all get their share so it is just the matter of closing the eyes and pretending to be blind to the plight of the people.
There should be only Govt. authorised driving schools where strict rules are implemented. Like in the CPL CERTAIN NUMBER OF HOURS OF DRIVING SHOULD BE MADE COMPULSORY before giving the licence not the system we presently have. LIke in the western countries there should be 20 or 10 points given along with the licence and for the faults commited by the drivers it should be deducted and when it reaches a minimum level the licence should be cancelled for life. The traffic police those who accept bribery should be punished as they take the blood money as when they let go of the culprit after taking the money it is natural that these drivers will again violate the traffic rules and kill someone. As the vehicle owners insure the vehicles for them an accident involving their vehicle is no problem at all. Regardless of whose fault it is a percentage of the insurance money should be given to the victim in case of injury or to the next of kin incase of death of the victim and all the hospital bills should be paid by the driver or the owner of the vehicle. I say this knowing that out of all the accidents 95% are avoidable. I have seen drivers with mobiles in hand and also talking with others mainly wemen in the front seat etc. There should be periodical driving awareness programs conducted by the Govt and the licence should not be issued for life. It should be given for five years for a period. Every five year the driver should appear for tests of reflexes, capability, vision etc. Even on the national highway there should be strict speed limits and violaters should be punished. Police should not hand over directly on the spot tickets but send the tickets to the house by post and make the culprits pay through bank or post office which will make it possible to keep a record in the police computer. Drivers including the tripper drivers should be given a salary per month and trips per day should be limited .
There could be plenty of precautionary measures like these which can be taken so in the future precious lives are preserved. In Delhi the Govt. has taken out of road the killer blue line bus service. Something drastic has to be done by the govt or the people inorder to bring down the number of deaths on the Keala roads. Many are maimed for life and it is only imaginable what they go through life and even the family members. The whole course of their lives are changed. Even the drivers themselves are to remember that they themselves are not in the driver's seat always. They could be a pedestrian too and in danger. Do unto others as you would have it done to you.
God Bless All

This class is a section who commit this mistake unabated purely due to their ARROGANCE,False EGO and all the more GREED for money for themselves and the Vehicle owners.
An equal part is played in these crimes by the Most EFFICIENT Officials, who are paid by the victim citizens, by not attributing the required importance to such incidences and curbing them strictly.Their attitude is quite Passive and indifferent and IRRESPONSIBLE !!! Regulations are there but absolute failure at the IMPLIMENTATIONS.The pretest is either no proper regulations for curbing such henious actions or the available regulations are out dated!!!!! What a WONDERFUL escape from not doing ones duty!!!!! To add colour to the whole matter the Governance part makes lot of festivals for everything wanted and unwanted !!! An ideal example to this in this context is frequent Traffic Awareness Weeks !!! What do they really do in this
!! A Pomped media exposre with photos of some officials doing some road cleaning or giving lecture to an uninterested, inattentive handful of audience. One very major reason for accidents is INATTENTIVENESS and second major reason is ARROGANCE.To add to these two in Kerala roads more than 45% of even the elite drivers don't seem to know the basics of FAIR DRIVING and ROAD ETHICS. Both these radical perquisites in driving is overdriven by ARROGANCE!!!!!

Few sincere questions :
Why do Government pay no attention to the innocent lives?
How (Bus and Tipper) drivers' minds so brutally changed ?
Are these drivers born to none or not given birth to none?
How come we make understand them that each life is precious as theirs' ??
How many such drivers so sentenced for "Non culpable homicide" ??
How much the extend of loss do the drivers suffer while reducing the speed when compared with value of life?
Do all such incidents are as Storm in the tea pot?
Why we cannot keep all such news in our memory?
Is the onset reaction of the public is enough?
How long should we wait to get rid off the fearfrom these Killer Buses and Tippers?
