Dear All,
Sub: The New Cheating from China - regPatriots in China are in a hurry to sell China and to achieve that they hijack Email Ids and send convincing messages. This is a new version of the spam from Nigeria. Kindly ignore them.
If you have a google ID kindly protect it with the 2-step verification.
It is very simple and all that you have to do is give your mobile number to Google. On loging into your Google ID you get another dialogue box to fill in the verification number and that will be ready in your mobile instantly.
The Chinese cannot steal your mobile number now.
My Google ID was hijacked recently and all in my mailing list (more than 1000) got messages that I have purchased something from China.
I do not have even a debit card till date.
Kindly do not fall into this trap from China.
Regards,
Kishore

Subject: Google Accounts - Important information about 2-step verification
To: kumarkishoreg@gmail.com
Dear Google Accounts user,
Congratulations on signing up for 2-step verification! Your account is now
better protected from hijackers.
Each time you sign in from an unverified computer, you will be required to
verify your identity with both a password and a verification code, which you can
get via a mobile app, SMS text message, or phone call.
IMPORTANT: What to Do If Some Applications Stop Working
Some applications that access Google data do not accept verification codes. They
only accept usernames and passwords. Examples include:
-Smartphones (e.g., Android, iPhone)
-Mail clients that use IMAP/POP (e.g., Outlook Express or Thunderbird)
-Chat clients (e.g., Google Talk)
-Picasa desktop application
Now that you have signed up for 2-step verification, these applications will
temporarily stop working. You can get them working again by entering an
application-specific password into the password box, instead of your regular
password or your verification code.
To create application-specific passwords, visit:
https://www.google.com/accounts/IssuedAuthSubTokens
IMPORTANT: Don't Lose Access to Your Account
Your account now requires both a password and a verification code for access. If
you lose access to the phones you configured for retrieving codes you can lose
access to your account.
Please keep your backup codes (the codes you printed out when signing up for
2-step verification) in a safe place. You can use these in place of your
verification code. If your phone or mobile application is unavailable, these
codes will be the only way to sign in to your account.
