Re: [www.keralites.net] 'Homeopathy tricks you into feeling better'

engeekay, even the claims that 'modern medicine' can cure cancer is a bogus one. only certain types of cancer, that too in the early stages can be cured. The so called modern medical practitioners are simply looting people in the name of treatment with expensive medicines. Its the propaganda of pharma companies and doctors to make bog money in the name of treatment. Many of us may personally know cancer patients who died even after regular treatment from the so called modern medicine. What was the benefit from these treatments??
They only added the financial burden on the family and the difficulties for the patients during the treatments. The doctors give false promises and hopes just to sell medicines and make the pharma business rich.
And for your information, both ayurveda and allopathy cures symptoms or root causes or both depending on the type of disease. Your observation that ayurveda cures only symptoms, is utter nonsense.

Dear Mr Janardanan,

The contents of your post was noted and don't want to refute on some points, as my
knowledge about the R& D aspects in Homeopathy or Ayurveda, is limited. I do agree to that. But the reality of the situation, we have to accept.

1.  'Genuine homeopathy' may not lead you to the stage of "euphoria" ,"the false feeling of well being". But unfortunately , all practitioners  are not genuine.

2.  I know a genuine Unani medical practitioner in Chennai, who treated a friend of mine who was suffering from Vitiligo (white patches all over the body). When asked, he said, he had been practising this method of treatement for Vitiligo since many years , but which ingredient  in the medicine given by him is bringing about the recovery, and how it brings about the recovery, etc etc, he was not aware of, and he was very frank enough to admit it. But he is continuing the good work even now. He is genuine unani practitioner, but all are not.... unfortunately !

3. Those who are not genuine, follow the "short-cut path" for making some fast buck,
or to bring in some patient-crowd, or  to get a good name in the society on a fast-track, by adding in medical ingredients which leads to the "false feeling of well
being " in the patient, where as the real disease is not being eradicated or cured !
It is 'this group' who spoil the  names of others who do lots of good work and service
to the society.

4. Whatever I say or whatevr you say, the fact remains that , as on today, for diseases like cancer, or situations like advanced stages of hernia, or  cirrhosis of liver, only option available now is "modern medicine". If at all anybody in any other branches of medicine claim that he has cured somebody of diseases like cancer, it is definitely bogus and whatever cure other branches of medicine can give to the patient is only "symptomatic". The root cause of the disease will not be removed . Or else, the dignosis would have been false (wrong).

Fine example of this being, the old incident where , a fake doctor in Ernakulam, who was taking innocent HIV positive patients for a ride, by claiming that he was curing them of AIDS..This has happened in the state where literacy is at its maximum, the gods own country, Kerala ! He minted money on that...I am sure that, majority would be remembering this famous incident.

So, genuine practitioners are there, who do know what they are doing, as the genuine ones in modern medicine, while some others don't know why they are doing as those genuine doctors in other systems like Unani and homeopathy.... but both are genuine. but unfortunately,  all are not genuine, let it be homeo, or ayurveda, or modern medicine,  . There lies the problem and the curse of our society...

Regards to all.

Dear all,

This investigation and research on Homoeopathy looks like an attempt to kill the Homoeopathic system of medicine.  There is no 'unique consultation process' in Homeopathy and no one tricks a patient into well being.  All these are paid investigations and researches.  Dr. Samuel Hahnemann, an allopathic doctor himself from Germany, who was the inventor of the Homeopathic system of medicines, was pained at the reactive nature of English medicines.  Throughout his life he conducted researches and invented this systemof medicine for the benefit of the common man.

Homeopathic treatment is highly effective for paediatric treatment as well as many other ailments of the grown up.  The cost of treatment is much less in comparison with allopathic treatment.

So, general public, be aware of these kinds of gimmicks by the allopathic drug business mafia.

Best regards,
J. Narikot

'Homeopathy tricks you into feeling better'

London, Nov 15 (IANS) Homeopathy tricks you into feeling better, even if a tincture prescribed is not genuine, new research says.

Sufferers of rheumatoid arthritis who approached a homeopath experienced significant easing of joint pain, inflammation and other key markers of the disease. Yet, it made no difference whether the solution they received was a genuine homeo tincture prescribed to treat rheumatism, or a placebo, according to the journal Rheumatology.
Sarah Brien of Southampton University, who led the study, said it provided the first scientific evidence to show such benefits were 'specifically due to its unique consultation process'.

Homoeopathy is based on a theory that substances which cause symptoms in a healthy person can, when vastly diluted, cure the same problems in a sick person.
The research compared different groups of patients, who were already being given conventional medication for the disease, reports the Telegraph.
Those who had a series of five consultations with a homeopathic doctor experienced 'significant clinical benefits', whether the tincture they received was a specially prepared 'homeopathic' remedy used to treat rheumatism, or a placebo.
Patients given exactly the same remedies without the consultations did not improve.
The findings suggested that simply 'talking and listening' to patients could dramatically assist their health.
George Lewith, professor of health research from the university, said: 'This research asked the question: 'Is homeopathy about the talking, or is it about the medicine?' We found it was about the talking, and indeed about the listening.'
