[www.keralites.net] Re: Films from Tamilnad

Dear John

Chotta kerala means area wise.......not devaluated....What I meant is actors like Rajinikanth definitely sustain until and unless the presence of viewers for enjoying the superhuman style.Malayali viewers are not habituated to see these things. Moreover Rajini does a lot of social work which is essentially benificial for lakhs of poors in Tamil Nadu,so for them Rajini is god,any way he can definitely help them.In kerala case in entirely different.Comparison of actors not possible,as actors are different in different back grounds.

Thank You

hat they cannot do in real life if shown by few heros unbelievably the the mass go to see and enjoy that thrill which is impossible
pl do not blame rajini alone
why hundred of films with mgr were only like that
single man with a card board knife had killed and won thousands of men easily with high while sound from the innocent audience
when u tolerated that nonsense for more than fifty years why u cannot now?
as long as people to believe these this will continue
pl do not compare kamal in this issue who is real actor and not a show master

Dear Friends,

I am concerned that all of you are so enamoured about our film actors. They act like superhuman beings.  Even if there are 20 people against them, they can fight and win over them. They are supermen. These sorts of characterisation, although it attracts the crowd, are above imagination and are subject to absolute ridicule by the intelligent viewers. There are, however, some films which depicts the drama in a realistic way with no fight and no long music encounters. They are good. But such pictures are rare now. The dancing shown in these films are just jumping around and twisting their buttocks in whatever musical way as they can conceive. I have no other feeling other than pity for such films.
Yours sincerely,
M. K. Menon - Malaysia

Dear Balachandran sir,

I don't know where you are from. We Malayalees do not consider our films as chotta mayali films. In fact it is our personal ego. I watch movies for the last 40 years since my childhood. We do not count our films with respect to their budgets. We have nearly two dozens or more films which are internationally honored with several awards including the national awards, Cans, Toronto, Florance, Tokyo, etc. Our actors like Ms have got 3 national awards each. Shaji M Karun got the Cans award long after Satyajith Rai. Gopi was selected as the best Asian actor. I just name a small part of the great achievements of Malayalam movie fraternity. This is our proud movie tradition and continued that saga till 90s. It is not about throwing cigar or rolling the pistols. Please try to understand this point. People may enjoy films in their own ways, but of course there is good and bad, deep and shallow, serious and silly. Rajanikant always represented the second type, silly and shallow. I won't say the same remarks about Kamal Haasan who was flourished through Malayalam industry and knows what is a good film means.

regards,
John

Dear friend,
Dont tell other language film viewers are low class.......They have been enjoying their movies in their own style.Dont compare Mammooty & Mohanlal with Rajanikanth......All are good actors..Rajinikanth is stylish and  can do superhuman characters well which are acceptable to almost all viewers in the world. Our BIG Ms are products of chotta kerala only .....can be sold only in kerala and few places outside kerala. So never compare their talents based on no of releasing theatres,fame...All are proud of Indian film Industry.........

When Mammootty and Mohanlal compete with Rajanikanth in 'Tamil Style', everyone know that they can't come any near to Rajani as he is doing the trick for the last 30 years to entertain the low class and young population of Tamil Nadu. Our superstars are good for their acting skills not for style-shows. They should realise this point and go back to the real story based movies just like they did in past decades. Otherwise action based Tamil movies will fully wipe out all these stars and Malayalam movie industry very soon.
