[www.keralites.net] Introducing BlackBerry's New PlayBook

Earlier this week, BlackBerry announced that they're joining the tablet party. Claiming to be the world's "fastest" and first "professional" tablet, the new BlackBerry PlayBook has a 7-inch LCD screen with a 1024 x 600 WSVGA display, and capacitive multi-touch control.

Here are the highlights:

- The BlackBerry PlayBook is powered by a 1-GHz dual-core processor and 1GB RAM, making it a step up from most netbooks on the market.

- It features both front-and rear-facing high-definition cameras to support video conferencing. The tablet will come with a 5 megapixel rear camera and 3 megapixel front facing camera. It supports 1080p HD video recording.

- PlayBook is compatible with BlackBerry Enterprise Server. When a user connects the device to a BlackBerry smartphone over Bluetooth, the smartphone content is viewable on the tablet.

- Unlike Apple's iPad, the PlayBook's web browser is compatible with Adobe's Flash technology, which allows users to watch a range of video content.

- The BlackBerry PlayBook is expected to be available in retail outlets in the US early next year, with rollouts in other international markets beginning in the second quarter of 2011 calendar year.
