according to columbia encyclopedia, characteristics of gas include:
1.neither definite shape nor definite volume.
(flames, most often, do have shapes. such as those of candles.)
2. assumes the shape of it's container.
(how can u describe the flame of a lantern not taking the shape of the lantern?)
3. all gases condense into liquids or solids when sufficiently cooled or compressed.

As is known to us all, matter is seen in three forms, namely solid, liquid and gas. (and latest by name plasma too.)
could any one tell me which form does FLAME belong to?
