KALPETTA: 'Nilavu' (The Moonlight), a Malayalam feature film produced by a group of Non-Resident Indians in Bahrain under the banner of Kshetra Films, is being got ready to screen in the State.
The film was a maiden endeavour of a group of Malayali youths who had been working in Bahrain for the past many years, Ajith Nair, director and script writer of the film, said on Tuesday.
The film tells the story of a young migrant worker in the Gulf. Hari, an orthodox Brahmin, leaves the luscious green fields of Kerala to make a livelihood. He reaches the concrete jungles of Bahrain, and is lost in the world of mechanical people, living in synthetic dreams. Confused about his identity in a strange world, he searches for someone to break his loneliness. His search leads him to Lakshmi, a lonely soul in love with the nature. Married to a rich businessman, and despite all the luxuries that money could buy for her, she feels caged in the fortress of a dysfunctional relationship. Their solitude and search for emotional anchorage bring them together. Krishnan Haridas and Sunita Nedungadi done the role of the hero and the heroine. The movie was shot mostly in Bahrain with added scenes shot in Wayanad. The film is jointly produced by Devan and Krishnan Haridas. Ajith Nair wielded the camera. Reji Gopinath composed the music rendered voice by K.S. Chitra and G. Venugopal.
