What would you do if you saw a giant polar bear roaming around in your shopping mall? Would you stop and touch its nose?
Asked to develop a concept for an interactive installation within Covent Garden London, multidisciplinary design consultancy PostlerFerguson created Bears. This installation consists of giant acrylic polar bear structures that hang out in the Covent Garden area just waiting for their noses to be touched. When done so, the bears illuminate from the inside, giving off light that slowly fills the sculptures.
The art installation was made to attract tourists and Londoners to the Covent Garden area, a district in London that was a former fruit and vegetable market. The site is now a popular hang out for those who are looking to shop, dine or just stroll.
