languages have their on individuality

in each language the people may have different terms for their us in Vogue

you cannot expect the same type and method in other language normally

in India in some of the languages we have single word for such relationship namely SAMBANDHI which has come out because we entered into a smbandam with such persons and call them so 

we cannot expect the same way in English unless and other wise they have such habits and words in use. If such words are not there there is no harm in taking and using such foreign words in to their custom and import them . This is the way in which any language gets a growth new words. .Even some letters are not in all languages such as ஜ்,ஷ்,ஸ் etc in Tamil but we have imported and are using them.

so without any hesitation start using such words from any language if the same is not in yours

I wonder wether there are any such words in English language. You must be wondering why?
 

The reason is ...language or words evolve from culture, which itself is a product of behaviour. Unlike the Indian culture where, whether you like it or not, because of marriage between a boy and a girl lots of relations are formed and a close knit society as we are, you got to live upto and conduct yourself in the socially acceptable manner with all those relations.

And hence, you got to give a proper name to each relationship.
 

But in the west there are no such norms ...even with in a small...nucleus family comprising only a husband and the wife, the partners demand privacy from each other ...elbow room as they like to call it.

In Hindi we call them Samdhi (I think derived from Sambandhi)
