As the account holder has not asked in writing to close the account, it is not in order for the Bank

to deactivate it. It is against Banking Law and practice. It should be remembered that the account opening form

with requisite supporting documents were given by the account holder, the employer would have

introduced the individual, it never gives any authority to them to mandate closure/ deactivation.

Hi Friend, From your letter I presumethat his account is a salary account. Since he left the company they would have intimated the same to the bank branch. So the bank would have deactivated the account. In my opinion if he wanted to continue that account he should convert that salary account,if so, to normal regular account. Then the bank will allow the operation.
