Dear members,
I feel there is no point in putting the question of Sreesanth's exclusion for scrutiny. As a person who has been a big admirer of this sport for a long time,I don't feel BCCI will make a grave mistake by putting personal grudges in to the selection process, and that too for a big tournament like the world cup. The team selected is the best possible team among the available resource. Of course there is no question over Sreesanth's ability, as he has proved many a times what he is capable of with his deadly swing and pace. But he needs to perform more consistently in the shorter version of the game, as his economy rate of over six runs an over is a matter of concern. Nehra may not be as aggressive and talented as Sreesanth, but he has got experience and can lift his game on big occasions.
We have seen him do this in 2003 world cup and in many other tournaments. Sreesanth is a bit erratic at times and needs to become more consistent. Of course that comes through playing more and more matches and he will have his chances after the world cup. You can't experiment in a big tounament like the world cup where experience and skill counts more than raw talent. Sreesanth will improve as a bowler and hopefully we can see him in action for the next world cup.
Have a good day,
HAPPY REPUBLIC DAY in advance to all the keralites
