തീർത്ഥം

അമ്മ മരണം കാത്ത് കിടക്കുകയാണ്‌.
അവസാനമായി ഒന്നു കാണാൻ വേണ്ടിയാണ്‌ മകൻ അകലെ നിന്നും വന്നത്.
അവശയായി കിടക്കുന്ന അമ്മ പതുക്കെ കണ്ണ്‌ തുറന്നു.
വരണ്ടുണങ്ങിയ ചുണ്ടുകൾ ചെറുതായി വിടർന്നു.
ഒരു തുള്ളി വെള്ളം. അതാവണം ആഗ്രഹം.
അവസാനത്തെ തുള്ളി വെള്ളം.
വർഷങ്ങൾക്ക് മുൻപ് ദൂര ദേശത്തേക്ക് പുണ്യ യാത്ര നടത്തിയ കാര്യം അപ്പോഴാണ്‌ മകൻ ഓർത്തത്.
അവിടെ ഒരു പുണ്യ നദിയിൽ നിന്നും ശേഖരിച്ച ജലവും.
അമ്മ സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽ തന്നെ പോകണം.
മകൻ അകത്തേക്കോടി. പൂജാ മുറിയിൽ ഭദ്രമായി സൂക്ഷിച്ചിരുന്ന ആ കുപ്പിയുമായി തിരിച്ചു വന്നു.
ഭക്തിപൂർവ്വം അതു അമ്മയുടെ വായിലേക്കൊഴിച്ചു. നിറ കണ്ണുകളോടെ..

അമ്മ മരിച്ചു. മൂന്നാം ദിവസം. വയറുകടിയായിരുന്നു. മുൻപ് അവശത മാത്രമേ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നുള്ളൂ.
അമ്മയെ സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിലേക്കയച്ച മകൻ നരകത്തിലേക്ക് തന്നെ പോകുമെന്നാണ്‌ എല്ലാവരും അന്ന് പറഞ്ഞത്.
