LED lamps replacing CFL ?

LED lamps are gradually replacing CFL .  They have already entered the fields like  automatic road  signaling, brake lamps and side indicators for automobiles ,  now for room lighting for homes  and many more needs !!. The advantages of LED lamps over CFL are many. They are free from mercury, have practically unlimited life (average life of  a CFL is only 2 years)   more energy efficient and cheaper too. A 40 pieces LED cluster lamp (see image below) consumes only around 1.5 watts  whereas a CFL of equivalent light output consumes more than 5 watts. China made LED cluster lamps suitable for  fitting in universal lamp-holders have already appeared in Indian and Kerala market too costing around Rs.100/-  LED fixed re-chargeable Torches (Flash Lights) of various sizes and colours have already flooded in  the Indian market
