മാനേജ്മെന്റ്ക്വോട്ടയില്‍ ഉയര്‍ന്ന ഫീസ് നല്‍കി പ്രവേശനം നേടിയ നിര്‍മല്‍ മൂന്നും നാലും സെമസ്റ്ററില്‍ ഹാജരാവുകയോ പരീക്ഷ എഴുതുകയോചെയ്യാതെ വിടുതല്‍ സര്‍ട്ടിഫിക്കറ്റ് വാങ്ങുകയായിരുന്നു. മൂന്നും നാലും സെമസ്റ്റര്‍ പരീക്ഷ എഴുതുകയോ ക്ലാസില്‍ ഹാജരാവാതിരിക്കുകയോ ചെയ്ത വിദ്യാര്‍ഥിക്ക് നിയമപരമായി അഞ്ചാം സെമസ്റ്റര്‍ പഠിക്കാന്‍ യോഗ്യതയില്ല. മാത്രമല്ല സ്വാശ്രയ കോളേജില്‍ പഠിക്കുന്ന ഒരാള്‍ക്ക് സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ കോളേജിലേക്ക് മാറാനുള്ള നടപടിയും അനുവദനീയമല്ല. സര്‍വകലാശാല ആക്ടിനും സ്റ്റാറ്റ്യൂട്ടിനും വിരുദ്ധമായുള്ള സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ തീരുമാനത്തിനെതിരെ യഥാര്‍ഥ റാങ്കുകാരായ വിദ്യാര്‍ഥികള്‍ നടത്തുന്ന സമരം ജനങ്ങളുടെയാകെ പിന്തുണ അര്‍ഹിക്കുന്നു.
